🐶✨ Ever noticed how your dog moves?

When we think of dog training, most of us picture teaching behaviours like sit, stay, recall, or walking nicely on the lead. These are all essential skills — but what about the way your dog’s body works?
Just like humans, dogs rely on balance, strength, flexibility, and comfort to perform at their best. If a dog is stiff, unbalanced, or uncomfortable, it can affect not only how they move, but also how they behave and how well they learn.
That’s why we’ve designed our new K-9 Functional Fitness & Form Class — combining the expertise of an IMDT-accredited trainer with a qualified canine physiotherapist. Together, we help owners understand not just what their dogs can do, but how they do it.
🧠 The Link Between Body & Behaviour
Have you ever noticed your dog being:
Restless on walks?
Reluctant to sit or lie down?
Over-excited or distracted during training?
Sometimes these behaviours aren’t simply “training problems.” They can be signs your dog is compensating for weakness, imbalance, or discomfort. By understanding the way your dog’s body works, you can spot these signs early and support them in the right way.
🩺 What Owners Learn in Class
This class is about education and empowerment as much as it is about training. You’ll learn to:
Recognise how your dog’s body is put together — from posture to gait.
Understand how muscles, joints, and balance affect everyday activities.
Identify when something looks “off” before it develops into a bigger issue.
Use simple, safe exercises to build your dog’s strength, balance, and coordination.
By combining physiotherapy techniques with positive reward-based training, we give you a toolkit to support both your dog’s behavioural wellbeing and their physical health.
💡 Why It Matters
A strong, balanced dog isn’t just healthier — they’re also:
More confident in new situations.
Better able to focus in training.
Less likely to injure themselves during play, sport, or everyday life.
Happier and more relaxed at home.
When owners learn what to look for in their dog’s anatomy and movement, they gain peace of mind and a deeper connection with their pet.
